Can you imagine that i took this picture of the butterfly few weeks ago?The weather is so hot here for the season that we still can see bees , butterflies and other insects we are not supposed to see since end september.

A friend told me this butterfly is called ( in french ) " Paon du Jour " .Nice isn't it?

Hi,

No scrapbooking today but a hard pastels self portrait i am working on these last days.

Well this is not finished at all.!!

I have to work more on the face , hair , ear and the neck.I enjoy so much working with pastels although it could sometimes be frustrating not to see the result i expected but it teaches me that art is a LOT of work!:) .I will ( may be :)) show it to you once it's finished.

Hi!

I so missed this blog!!No posts during the last two weeks!Well i just made a kind of august blog break.A short break :)

I teached my last local class of the year on monday and last week my best friend from Paris spent almost a week with us.We had a great weather and we could go the beach , swim and have pic-nics.

But a blog break doesn't mean i stopped creating projects or making jewelries.You can see above two of them:

Hi!

We had a wonderful sunny weather on the last three days here, on my beautiful island . I couldn't resist to make a long bike ride.I went to the marshes , where everything is so quiet and beautiful.I had the chance to see storks , herons and egrets.

Then i crossed vineyards where the grapes where almost ripe.After work my husband my daughter and i went to the beach to swim ,have picnic and see the sunset.

Well after weeks of bad and dark weather i felt almost depressive ( and who wouldn't? :)) and now i feel

much better.

Self portraits

First of all i did not like making self portrait photos.May be i was afraid to look like pretentious or a personn only concerned by herself.

I never had the same problem when drawing my self altough.

Well i changed my mind because i feel now that self portraits are a way to do introspection.A way to analyze my thoughts and feelings.

And i am always looking for tips for taking better self portraits.I read a great post about it yesterday

Hi!Sassafras blog is hosting a CHA week challenges this week. Megan's today challenge is focused on journaling.And this is my take.I made this layout with a picture of my husband i took when we were in India few years ago :

I used Sassafras Sunshine broadcast paper , stickers and flag banner stickers

I mixed them with In stitched buttons and garden bits chipboards

for the journaling i mixed handwrite with chipboards and alpha stickers

Our Parisian Journey

Hi!

Just a quick post today to show you pics of our last week journey in Paris.We had a sunny and great weather on the first five days.But the last three days were a little dark and cold but this is Paris , you can never know what kind of weather you will have there :)!Let me summarize it for you:

We took the train to Paris with our daughter for the first time ( we used to go there with our car )
My daughter suffered an ear infection and bronchitis on the second day we arrived and we had to call doctors' service
We took the bateaux mouches .It's a kind of pleasure boat on the Seine.All the photos you can see above were taken from the boat
I had a surprise concert with my best friend.I could see ( and hear ) one of my favorite singers and musicians Agnes Obel in an amazing place in Paris called Theatre Des Bouffes Du Nord
I Went to Louvre Museum , Rodin Museum , and Stanley Kubrick exhibition
We me our family and parisian friends
The last day my daughter woke up with a skin allergy .It was so huge that we had to go to emergency at midnight ( thanks god she is ok now ).

So as you can see our trip was great but a little bit animated.What about you ? I would love to know were you have been ( or are going) this summer ?

Hi everyone!I feel a little bit difficult to keep on working this week.We were at my in laws 40 years wedding celebration .We had a lot of fun but it was a little bit tiring.So i started the week very slowly trying to work on new stuff.

Hi!For this second Palette Wednesday , i featured Sassafras Sunshine Broadcast papers

I mixed them with Sassaras pink vintage brooch , pink paper whimsies and Sunshine broadcast foldies

i added Sassafras green and blue Garden bits chipboards

This is the card once open .The flowers are framed with green stamped stitchery.

Did i already say that i love Sassafras Paper Crush collection?Probably yes.I tried to stop saying it but no way !!I really LOVE it!:)

I attached on the front of the card a small pocket where i hided secret notes.I used Starters paper for the card and Paper Crush for the pocket and the embellishments are Paper Crush , Ellie's Tale , paper whimsies , brads and in stitched blossom .I hope you will like this project .

Hi!It's time for Sassafras June sketch and.......a popup layout !!And this is my take.I mixed Sassafras Ellie's tale , starters and sweetly smitten papers.I added Sweeetly Smitten and Paper Crush journal tag stickers , Ellies Tale sweet treat stickers and Sweetly Smitten foldies.

Did you notice that this is the first layout i made since a loooooong time?And this is the reason i wanted this layout to be VERY special

Hi!

I am part of a Product spotlight wednesday on Sassafras blog today!You can see the other DT girls work there.

This is a handmade clipboard i made for my daughetr's room.I used some cardboard and two clothes pins

photos are attched on Sassafras Paper Crush collection journal tags

The clipboard top is decorated with cutout clouds

Each house shaped clipboard 's roof is decorated with Paper Crush collections flag banner stickers

I covered a Maya Road Home shape with red paper and attach it to the bottom of the clipboard.I hope you will enjoy this project.

I love this sweet treat sticker!!

It's a little bit difficult to see but the flowers composition are two popups who fold and unold when we open and close the popup

I love this one!!The elephant's trunk goes up when the book is open and goes down when it's closed!

and for this one the little bird also goes up when the book is open and down when it's closed.

Sweetly Smitten spotlight project

Hi!

Sassafras blog has a Sweetly Smitten spotlight today!You can hope on over there and see how the DT gils used this gorgeous collection.

This is my project.Just like i said yesterday , it is a mother's day gift for my mom.I used an old white and black photo of me and her.I am always a little bit sad when i do mother's day cards or minis because i can never give them to my mom because she lives in an other country ( and an other continent actually ).I can see my mother only every two or three years and it's something very hard for me.But stop speaking about me and my feelings , you can see above my project:

I used floral fields paper , journal tag sticker and stitched flower buttons on the front cover

I also used journal tag stickers and cut out flowers

I hope thisproject will inspire you.

Hi!It's May Sketch challenge day on sassafras blog today!!

This is my first digital layout ever ( well i am used to do digital stuff for my classes or my blogs design but never really did scrapbooking layouts before today ).I loved it and i am afraid i am almost addicted to it :)

We had such a beautiul day today!!Very sunny and very hot ( about 28° ).We went to the beach at the end of the morning and had a picnic.Then spent there the whole day.But altough it is the week end i wanted to update LilibeeStudio Tutorials blog by adding This minibook tutorial.And couldn't resist to post my new project 's sneak peeks.

seven gypsies altered tray.

I made this tray for my local classes.I did not used papers except Sassafras cards.I stamped orange and yellow polka dots directly on the tray .Then i stamped the patterns you can see below with brown , blue , green and red ink

I also used Sassafras paper flowers , felties and chipboards

I also stamped blue polka dots on the tray edges.

I really enjoyed experiencing this new way to use stamps.
